Leaders in International Health Program 2009
The purpose of the Leaders in International Health Program 2009 of the Pan American Health Organization is to contribute to the development of the Health Agenda for the Americas 2008-2017 by strengthening the capacity of countries in the Region to understand, act upon and positively influence the international determinants of health, to promote their national interests, and to achieve intersectoral health agreements in international environments, at all times guided by the principle of greater global equity in health. Building upon the success of the Training Program in International Health established in 1985, the newly renovated Leaders in International Health Program incorporates an updated curriculum, new problem-based learning modules, and a decentralized operating model to enhance participants’ abilities to integrate the learning into their countries’ contexts.(1/Apr/2008)

Campaign to Prevent Antimicrobial Resistance in Healthcare Settings
The CDC's Campaign to Prevent Antimicrobial Resistance aims to prevent antimicrobial resistance in healthcare settings. The campaign centers on four main strategies: prevent infection, diagnose and treat infection, use antimicrobials wisely, and prevent transmission. Within the context of these strategies, multiple 12-step programs are being developed targeting clinicians who treat specialty-specific patient populations including hospitalized adults, dialysis patients, surgical patients, hospitalized children, and long-term care patients. Educational tools and materials are being developed for each patient population. (63 slides with comprehensive notes attached to each)(1/Apr/2004)
