Stop the Global Epidemic of Chronic Disease: Advocacy Toolkit
This toolkit contains a manual that is a guide and practical tool for all advocates of chronic disease prevention and control, with a simple seven-step plan for effective advocacy, including identifying target audiences, developing key messages and selecting implementation strategies. This manual is part of a larger WHO advocacy toolkit on preventing chronic disease, which is available either online via the link provided or free of charge while supplies last by contacting WHO Chronic Disease Team. Progress made in the Project on Adaptation and Validation of the 5 Key Ways Manual on Food Safety in Elementary Schools in Guatemala
This 20-slide presention reports on the PAHO project currently being carried out by INCAP in Guatemala. The purpose of the Project is to adapt the WHO Bringing Food Safety Home: Using the WHO Five Keys to Safer Food to local-level needs in Guatemala and later in Honduras as well. Field Photos: 2002 Mission to Guatemala to Fight Chagas Disease
The 13 photographs below illustrate the official mission to Guatemala in February 2002, conducted jointly by PAHO and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as part of their joint collaboration project with the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance (MSPAS) in the fight against Chagas disease in poverty-stricken rural communities. The mission conducted field visits to isolated communities in Zacapa, Jutiapa, Chiquimula and elsewhere to evaluate the situation with a view to present and future community-level activities and then presented its findings to the Ministry of Health in Guatemala City. All this was carried out within the framework of the Initiative of Central American Countries against Chagas Disease (IPCA).(29/Jun/2005)
