Purpose

To discuss the progress, opportunities and challenges to advance NCD policies and programs in the Region.

Objectives

• To showcase successful initiatives, tools and resources that can support countries in their NCD policies and programs.
• To discuss a proposal for an updated NCD Regional Strategy and Plan of Action.
• To deepen awareness and understanding of a 'whole of society approach' for NCDs.
• To strengthen existing partnerships and networks for NCD prevention and control.

Expected Results

Assessment of progress, challenges and opportunities to advance NCD policies and programs. Greater awareness of tools and resources available for country NCD program managers. An updated NCD Regional Strategy and Plan of Action, with input from the CARMEN network.
