Welcome to the Speakers Bureau and Press Contacts Page. Launched in 1997, the Speakers' Bureau set out to:

  • Explain the relevance and importance of international public health and its relationship with development.
  • Educate and inform organizations and individuals about the Pan American Health Organization's mission and role as an international public health organization that celebrated its centennial in 2002.
  • Share information on the Organization's areas of expertise in disease prevention and control, immunization, health promotion, violence, adolescent health, disaster and emergency preparadness, women's health and gender issues, environmental protection, urbanization, violence, emerging and re-emerging diseases, HIV/AIDS, health sector reform and reduction of social inequities.
  • Distribute packets of information about how to access Pan American Health Organization's scientific and technological periodicals, videos, books and Internet materials.

Since then the Pan American Health Organization experts have spoken to diverse audiences ranging from universities, such as Harvard and Boston University, to organizations such as the World Affairs Council and the Fulbright Association.

We can provide you with an appropriate scientific and technical expert for a range of functions - from opening sessions to conference panels and other meetings.
